1. Supplier information (ECT Act s.43)

This website is owned and operated by:

uMkhuze Game Reserve is a provincial reserve managed separately by Ezemvelo KZN Wildlife. Reserve gate fees and reserve regulations are set by Ezemvelo, not by us.

2. Scope and acceptance

These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the Mantuma Camp website at mkuzegamereserve.co.za (the "Website") and the enquiry, story-submission, and information services provided through it.

By using the Website, submitting an enquiry, or making a booking, you agree to be bound by these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not accept the Terms, please do not use the Website.

If you are making a booking on behalf of a group or family, you confirm you have authority to accept these Terms on behalf of all members of your party.

3. Nature of services

Mantuma Camp is a self-catering accommodation operation inside uMkhuze Game Reserve. We offer:

• Self-catering accommodation in chalets, cottages, safari tents and rest huts at Mantuma main camp
• Exclusive accommodation at Nhlonhlela Bush Lodge
• Camping and caravan stands at Emshopi Campsite
• Guided morning and night drives, bush walks, and birding outings

This Website provides information about the camp, the reserve, and the services available, and allows you to submit enquiries. The Website itself does not currently process bookings or payments online; bookings are confirmed by direct correspondence with our reservations team.

4. Enquiries and bookings

Enquiries

When you submit an enquiry through the Website, this is a request for information and a quote, not a binding booking. We will respond, ordinarily within one business day, with availability and pricing.

Bookings

A booking is confirmed only when:

• You have received a booking confirmation in writing from our reservations team, and
• The required deposit has been received and reflected in our bank account

Until both have happened, no accommodation is reserved on your behalf.

Review and correction (ECT Act s.43(2))

Before submitting any enquiry, please review the information you have entered. After submitting, you may contact us by email or phone to correct any errors before we respond. After receiving our quote, you have a reasonable opportunity to review, query, or withdraw before any booking is confirmed.

5. Prices and payment

Accommodation prices are quoted in South African Rand (ZAR) and include VAT where applicable. Prices are subject to change without notice until a booking is confirmed.

Quoted prices include:

• Accommodation in the chosen unit for the dates booked
• Daily housekeeping service
• Use of camp facilities (pool, hides, take-away, where available)

Quoted prices typically do not include:

• Reserve entry fees set by Ezemvelo KZN Wildlife (paid at the gate)
• Conservation levy (R5 per person, set by Ezemvelo)
• Guided activities (game drives, walks, birding outings — bookable separately)
• Food, drinks, and supplies (the camp is self-catering)
• Travel insurance, fuel, or any costs associated with reaching the reserve

Booking deposits and full-payment timing are communicated at the time of quoting. Methods accepted are EFT (electronic funds transfer) and credit card. We do not accept the Wild Card or Rhino Card schemes for accommodation or gate fees at uMkhuze.

6. Cancellation policy

The standard cancellation policy is communicated at booking confirmation. Typical terms (subject to confirmation):

• More than 60 days before arrival: full refund less an administration fee
• 30 to 60 days before arrival: 50% refund
• Less than 30 days before arrival: no refund, but the deposit may be transferable to a future date at our discretion
• "No-show" without notice: no refund

We strongly recommend you take out travel insurance to cover unforeseen cancellations.

The Consumer Protection Act, 68 of 2008, provides certain consumer rights regarding bookings, which apply where applicable.

7. Guest conduct and safety

uMkhuze is a working game reserve with free-roaming Big Five wildlife and other potentially dangerous animals. By visiting, you accept that:

• You will follow all reserve regulations posted at the gates and at camp reception
• You will not leave your vehicle except in designated areas
• You will not feed, approach, or harass wildlife
• You will not exceed posted speed limits in the reserve
• You will return to camp before gate closing time
• Children under your care remain your responsibility at all times
• You will not bring firewood into the park (regulation due to the Polyphagous shot hole borer beetle)
• Pets are not permitted in the reserve

We reserve the right to refuse service or require departure (without refund) where guests behave dangerously, abusively, or in breach of reserve regulations.

8. Wildlife and natural-environment disclaimer

You acknowledge that visiting a wild game reserve carries inherent risks that are not fully within our control:

• Wildlife encounters are never guaranteed; the reserve is a wilderness, not a zoo
• Animals may approach the unfenced camp; this is part of the experience and you are responsible for your own safety, particularly at night
• uMkhuze is a low-risk malaria area in summer (November to April); we recommend consulting a medical professional about prophylactics
• Roads in the reserve are unpaved in places and may be impassable after heavy rain
• Mobile signal is patchy throughout the reserve
• Power supply depends on Eskom and may be subject to load-shedding without backup

9. Website content and intellectual property

All content on this Website — text, photographs, illustrations, the Mantuma logo, the bushveld scene, design elements, and the underlying code — is the intellectual property of Dream Holiday Operators (Pty) Ltd or our licensors, and is protected by South African and international copyright, trade mark, and related laws.

You may:

• View and print pages for your personal, non-commercial use
• Share links to our pages on social media or in correspondence
• Quote short extracts (under 50 words) for review or commentary, with proper attribution

You may not, without our written permission:

• Reproduce, republish, or commercially distribute substantial portions of the content
• Use our photographs, illustrations, or logo on any other website, in any publication, or in any commercial material
• Frame or hot-link to our content from other sites
• Scrape, harvest, or systematically collect content from this Website
• Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble any code

"Mantuma Camp", the Mantuma logo, and the bushveld scene illustration are trade marks of Dream Holiday Operators (Pty) Ltd.

10. Third-party links and content

This Website contains links to other websites operated by third parties (including Ezemvelo KZN Wildlife, iSimangaliso, KZN Tourism, BirdLife South Africa, South African Tourism, TripAdvisor, and others). These links are provided for convenience. We do not control, endorse, or take responsibility for the content, privacy practices, or terms of those third-party sites. Visiting them is at your own risk.

11. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by South African law, including the Consumer Protection Act:

• We provide this Website "as is" and make no warranties or representations as to the accuracy, completeness, or fitness for any purpose of the content
• We are not liable for any damage, loss, or injury arising from your use of the Website, your visit to the reserve, or any encounter with wildlife, except where such liability arises from our gross negligence or wilful misconduct and cannot lawfully be excluded
• We are not liable for delays, cancellations, or disruptions caused by circumstances beyond our reasonable control (including weather, load-shedding, road closures, government action, civil unrest, pandemics, or acts of nature)
• Our maximum aggregate liability to any guest for any cause whatsoever shall not exceed the total amount paid by that guest for accommodation

Nothing in these Terms limits or excludes any liability that cannot lawfully be limited or excluded under South African law.

12. Dispute resolution

If we are unable to resolve the matter through direct correspondence within 30 days, the parties agree to attempt mediation through a mutually agreed mediator before resorting to litigation.

Consumers may also lodge complaints with the National Consumer Commission or the Tourism Grading Council where applicable.

13. Governing law and jurisdiction

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa. Any dispute arising out of or in connection with these Terms or the use of this Website is subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the South African courts.

14. Changes to these Terms

We may amend these Terms from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top of the page tells you when the most recent change was made. Continued use of the Website after a change constitutes acceptance. Material changes will be flagged on the homepage for at least 30 days.
